Kitchens are essentially made up of four key components – kitchen cabinets, kitchen doors and drawer fronts, worktops and appliances. Therefore, if you only plan to change one of these key components, say your kitchen  doors, you can estimate that it’ll cost you only a quarter (25%) of the price of a new kitchen.

For an example, if we assume that the average kitchen costs £10,000 these days, then new replacement doors will cost you approximately £2,500. On the other hand, if you’re thinking of changing your kitchen doors and worktops, then the average price of the kitchen makeover will be around £5,000 approximately.

Of course, these figures aren’t exact and prices will vary depending on several factors such as:

• the number of doors and drawer fronts in your kitchen
• the dimensions of those doors and fronts (larger doors cost more and smaller ones)
• the style of doors you select (high gloss doors plus some of the feature doors tend to be more expensive)
• the type of worktop you select, for example, laminate worktops are a cost-effective solution whereas quartz or granite worktops are significantly costlier
• the type of appliances and Brands or manufacturers you select (top-end appliances can cost over £1000 each!)
